Title: Yummi-Land Dolls - Toys from the 2000s
Post by: zuse on Saturday 17 April 2010, 10:01 pm
Yummi-Land dolls by MGA Entertainment would be a nice current-toy addition to the site. The dolls are just very reminiscent of some of the food-themed dolls of the 80s and the Kiddles type dolls. I will even forgive them for their resemblance to the related Bratz line. :)

There is probably still an actual company page in existence for them (I think they're still being made... at least the grocery store has the panda one I want for $20).

But, in a few years of course the company will have moved on and no one will remember what they were. :-P

I yanked all these pics from Google, so don't credit me!

I second this!  Their similarity to the "feel" of some of the old 80s/90s lines appeals to me, and I've actually gone looking for a guide a few times because I'm interested.  I'm with zuse... I like them despite the Bratz connection :P

I was just thinking that the actual packaging isn't as cute as some of the older stuff. And then I realized that they have to cram so much information with all the warning labels and everything. :-P It looks very cluttered/busy.

Great idea!!

I have a couple of the larger 18 inch (ithink) ones and few of the smaller ones.

Cute line of dolls.

I have one of these and think they are really nice. I was really into collecting G2 LPS when these came out so I never ended up getting more than one.

Zuse - I agree. The packaging on newer toys is pretty much always on a card rather than in a box and they prefer to show photos of the toy rather than cute character drawings.

I remember the commercials for these but they were gone before I had a chance to take an interest :P in them.

I'm very tempted to see about getting some of the Soda Pop pets- they're very cute, and I love scented toys :)
