Title: Flower Fairies [Hornby]
Post by: Ghost Of The Doll on Saturday 17 July 2010, 12:22 pm
I've nearly finished putting together some pages for Hornby's Flower Fairies, and just wondered if anyone had any brochures or other sales material they could scan for me to use?

There were lots of dolls produced and would love to add in a picture of all of them. Many of the later dolls are quite rare (or possibly never sold widely) and the two sites I was using last year for reference have now disappeared into the internet ether so can't contact them for help now.

Any help with catalogue type images or help organising the dolls would be most appreciated!

So far I know there were seven original dolls produced:

In a catalogue image, along with the original seven, there were ten more fairies:

_______________

There were three Deluxe Fairies relased at first:

These four had their cotumes released seperatly as Deluxe Costumes, but were the fairies also released as Deluxe Fairies, or even released as dolls at all? I know Poppy was as I've found a boxed image of her, but what about the other three?

I then found mention of two more Deluxe Fairies, but assume there were more (who were they?):

________________

There were five Flower Fairy Twins sets (fairy & pixie), three of the fairies had been previously released on their own, so there were only two new fairy dolls to add the series.

________________

There were twelve Magic Flower Fairies, all of which had been sold before without glow-in-the-dark accessories (as these had). I only know of six, who were the other six?

________________

I know of at least eight more dolls which were produced, but I'm not sure where they fit in!

_______________

There was one mail order fairy.

_______________

There were three Magical Mist Fairies produced (possible sold in both blond and brunette). I have found a catalogue image naming one as "Morning Mist", what were the others called?

_______________

There were at least three fairies which came with small playset accessories:

There were at least two fairies which came with small accessories. They may also have been sold without the accessories too.

_______________

The Pixies, playsets and costumes I have been able to sort out but as you can see from the list above I really need some help organising the fairies themselves! I shall be putting the pages online in a short while as it will be easier for you to see where I need help with images and information.

As always, thanks for any help you can give in creating this section!  ;D

Finally, booklet scans!

They were bigger, but Photobucket resied them. I have super HQ versions of these if anyone is interested.

Incidentally, the fairies were released in the US by Tonka and were renamed 'Star Fairies'. The dolls are identical but the outfits and pets/friends are completely different.

Thanks for the scans of the book I would love to find that winged horse some day. I will keep an eye out for it if they got around to actually producing the toy.

The US line did have a similar horse released, albeit as a unicorn.

Hi, just seen this website and it brings back memories, I had a big collection as a kid and they are still in my loft, will have to dig them out and find out what I actually had.  I just thought id let you know that under the pixie catogory you have a pixie with a sledge and you wasnt sure if they had actually made it, I can confirm that they did as I do have one.  Also I have the winged horse.

Did your sledge come with Pine Pixie, as the image shows, or was it another pixie?

So it was definitely sold then, but most likely on a small scale. Thanks for clearing that up! If you ever find it in your loft let us know!

The horse was definitely released, I had her as a child.

Does anyone remember the a wishing well and a flower garden plaset (the same base as the ballet plasyet) which you coloured in yourself? I definitely had these, they were definitely FF, but I cannot find any info on them at all :(

natshera I would be interested in and FF bits you may have :)
