In Finland, toys are usually known better in their English name, and sometimes the toy isn't given a translated name at all. However, these two are toylines that non-collectors may call by their Finnish name:

- Care Bear: Halinalle (translates to something like "huggies teddy", hali is a cutesy term for halaus (a hug) and nalle is a cute nickname for a bear, one that is often given to teddybears).

- Strawberry Shortcake: Mansikka-Marja (mansikka means strawberry, marja means berry but it's also a common girls' name)

I've also seen the following ones being used, but I don't know if they are official or fanmade, and these are all toylines better known in their English name:

- My Little Pony: Pikku Ponit (little ponies)

- Rainbow Brite: Sateenkaari-Riti (Rainbow-Riti, I guess Riti is a nickname from Ritva or Riitta)

- Lady LovelyLocks: Lady Sulokutri (pretty much a straight translation. Sulo (short version of suloinen) can mean lovely, pretty, cute, adorable etc. And kutri = lock of hair.)

Rainbow Brite:
Italy - Iridella [because "iris" meant "colour" in ancient Greek]

Fairy Tails:
Italy - Codalunga [long tail]

Care bears:
Italy - Orsetti del cuore [literally heart bears, meaning "cherished" or "dearest"]

Magic diaper babies:
Italy - Magico pannolino [magic diaper]

Lil Babies:
Italy - Paciocchini [paciocco means chubby]
France - Les babies
Spain - Los babies

Mini babies:
Italy - gemellini [baby twins]
France - mini babies

My little pony:
Italy - Mio mini pony

Sweet secrets:
Italy - Dolci segreti [sweet secrets]

Tinkle tots:
Italy - Pipi baby [ooh you don't want me to translate it!]

Fairy Winkles:
Italy - Folly magic [a pun on "folletto" which means "elf"]

Popcorn Pretties, CMM, Popples, Poochie, SheRa, Jem and CBK kept their original names. LLL herself did too, but her friends and enemy were given Italian names.
About translations, "Liu e i suoi segreti" means "Liu and her secrets" whereas Bidibodi doesn't mean anything, it's just a cute (cough #ugly# cough) nonsense.

I Live in the dutch speaking part of Belgium, and some of the names I can think of right now are these:

Care Bears: Troetelbeertjes

My Little Pony: Mijn Kleine Pony (Although I think they were usually referred to as My Little Pony, at least I did. :))
So the translation you have for Holland isn't correct.

I am from Denmark, and here, too, toys are usually known by their english names.

My Little Pony is My Little Pony
Care Bears is Care Bears
Lady Lovely Locks was Lady Lovely Locks
and so on....

I can't recall any toys that got translated. I'll get back to you is I find any. :)

;) No, they are called "Gli orsetti del cuore" in Italy. It simply means 'Heart Bears'.  :D

Hi,

some more German names that came to my mind:

Pound Puppies - Wauzis
Pound Purries - Miauzis
My Pet Monster - Mein Teddy Monster

The most common ones are already listed above. I do remember a lot of the toys but many kept their names such as Keypers, Poochie, etc.

Greetings, Posey
