Julia emailed me this description:

"Hi! I've been looking on the internet for ages now for this toy/bag that was available I think around the late 80s early 90s. I don't have mine anymore, and can't find any pictures or references.
I'm sure it was called Doofles, and mine was purple/pink and rectangular with big eyes, arms that could come together with velcro, and legs that were black and white stripy with plastic removable shoes. It was quite big, and as you carried it, it sort of was long enough to almost walk along with you. The compartment was fastened together with a bit of velcro. I saw others in shops at the time that had a mini doofles with them too.

UPDATE!!!
The only mention of Doofles bags I have found state they were produced by Imagination Factory in 1998 and were 13" high - Julia confirmed this was her toy.

I have the pink one of these complete with the plastic shoes! I bought it as a child from a charity shop because I thought it was cool!
