Tips for photographing boxes

I need some tips on how to take photos of boxes. I have a few play sets that have boxes but the boxes have shiny cardboard on the out side. I keep getting awful  glare from the camera. How do I correct this problem ?

I'm not a photography expert by any means, but here are my suggestions:

-Do not use flash.
-Instead, use natural, indirect light. Put your boxes as close to a window as you can, preferably south facing and as close to midday as possible. This will give you the most natural light. Turn the flash off on your camera and you should be able to get some glare-free shots.

Glad I could help. I should clarify that the south facing proviso is for people in the northern hemisphere -- in Australia etc. I imagine you'd want a north-facing window for the most light!

If you don't have a south-facing window, it can be OK, you just need to take your pictures at midday. I don't have a south-facing window in my apartment, for instance.

Also if you really need the flash you can hold your camera farther away and at a slight angle- that should work!
