Alphie is an educational robot toy first issued by Playskool in 1978. He was re-released as Alphie II with updated features I think in the mid-80s. And then updated again a couple years ago. He teaches colors, numbers, counting, etc. I remember it being very easy, so I think it was probably for kids even younger than I was when I got it.

And looking through Google images there appear to be other variations. Found something called "on the go" Alphie and Deci-bot.

Wow, I really feel so old while watching such adorable pics :) I see Sesame Street - I was learning to read from this TV show :)
