Pink shell Polly Pocket fake?
« on: Sunday 19 February 2017, 06:26 pm »
I've found more than one picture of this shell compact playset but I don't know the brand or what year it was produced in. In one picture there are troll toys but in the other there are mermaid toys and some Polly Pocket toys, but searching for both of those things specifically doesn't bring any result. And perhaps the mermaids are from a Starcastle? Please help!

Sorry I can't be more help with identifying this toy, but I did find a listing for one on Etsy with two little mermaids. There's also a few more pictures on there. The listing says it has no name or markings on the item either.  ??? Hopefully someone knows what these cuties are!

I actually stumbled across this again while searching for something else today. It's called Mermaid Pocket Paradise or Mermaid Paradise (as I found two different boxes).

This first one says it's by Simba

I found more info and a clearer picture on this site.

I also found this box on Worthpoint which just looks a bit larger, but has all the same things in in that I can see. They are small, but it's cool to see the back of the box.

wow! Thanks for the help! I still see these occasionally but I've never seen such a clear picture or on the card. if you happen to know anything about obscure purse shaped playsets I'm still looking for answers about one! If not thanks anyway! http://ghostofthedoll.co.uk/Forum/index.php?topic=5201.0

That's actually what I was looking for when I stumbled upon this. My hunt is still on though, and I'll definitely post if I find anything.  ;D
