Carrie emailed me this doll description and image (left):

"Hi. Please help!!! My daughter LOVES this cloth doll and I've tried and tried to find another one or figure out who manufactured it... I'm not having much luck. Hopefully someone out there can identify this rag doll and perhaps even have one! The doll has been very loved by my daughter, so it's a little faded and I actually sewed her together a new body. But the body was originally made of the same material as the head, arms and legs are. Also, she has a printed face. Her dress was lost, but it was also made out of the same material as the face, arms, & legs and it said what I think was "guava" on the dress. The doll is about 12" long and is probably from the 1980's. Thank you!"

Amber emailed me with another image and added:

"I found this doll today at the thrift store that matches the one in this post.. right down to "Guava" on her dress! Her tag says "GOFFA INT'L CORP" on one side and "REG NO. PA# 4482 CRC All new materials Polyester Fibers Made in China" on the other."

I loved rag dolls like this. So, is this one not considered identified?

I was hoping that someone would be able to put a name to the series of dolls (there's more than just the Guava doll), but it seems not  :(

I've just emailed Goffa to see if anyone there knows any more about this doll.

I bought one of these dolls today too! It's also the yellow Guava one. :P If this person ever reappears... we have two!

I received a reply from Goffa and apparently they were simply called Adorable Dolls. After looking at their website it seems they don't go much for series names with anything they make.

I have a doll like this but it's pink and has strawberries instead of guavas.
Here is 2 pictures of it. Is it the same type of doll??

I don't know?

Is the original poster still around? I'd sell them the doll I found. :)

Hi Zuse, I emailed Carrie about Amber's doll as she was happy to sell it to her, but didn't receive any further communication from her after her reply to that email, so I don't know if the sale ever went through. Unless she joined under a different email address, Carrie isn't a member here (but I did email her the link to her post when I created the forum). I'll email her the link again, so she can take a look at your doll!

Hi.  I am Carrie.  I'm the person who originally inquired about the Goffa doll.  I have now registered and I'm here!  If the person whom posted the Strawberry goffa doll is interested in selling it, I'm definetely interested in purchasing it!  Please feel free to email me at Celica_622@yahoo.com and we can figure out the details.  Thanks so much!   Carrie
