UK Plastic Tetris-like shape fitting game
« on: Sunday 17 November 2019, 11:33 am »
"Let me just find out the name on the internet" I said. Two hours later and I'm still trying to figure out what it was I remember as a kid. I'm sure we've all been there.

This was a game from the 70s/80s I owned in the UK. It was in a white box, with a cartoon figure of a man "puzzling" over one of the puzzles. It consisted of a red plastic tray, about 3 inches by 4 inches and a set of yellow plastic puzzle pieces that looked like Tetris shapes.

It came with a book that had 50 or so puzzles in it that would list shapes, and show you a couple already placed in the grid. You then had to work out how to fit the rest. The puzzles got progressively harder as the book went on, with the final puzzles not showing any pieces placed, leaving you to work out the whole thing.

Just cannot remember what it was *called*.

All help greatly appreciated.

Steve

Very similar, but no...Now I come to think of it... it did have diagonals, triangles etc... They were all the same color though. My set had a red tray and yellow pieces.

Having done a bit more digging it was very similar to Katamino.

I keep thinking it was produced by Ideal Games, but I could be wrong.
