Toy ID Help Guidelines

When writing a description please try to be as clear as possible and include as many details as you can, especially if you aren't able to include an image.

Two very useful points to include are:

  • Manufacturers Markings (company and date)
  • Size

Posting an image is simple, but you will need to have it hosed somewhere (eg. Flickr or Photobucket). To have the image appear in your post, click the Insert Image button then paste your image address inbetween the HTML text provided:

 http://...address goes here...

and you'll see your image in your post:

If you don't do this your image will be posted as a link instead:

If you link to other peoples images within your post please credit them or provide a link.

A massive help to me would be that once your toy is identified, please modify your post by changing the message icon to a thumbs up. I will then move it to the Identified board (the topic can still be added too). It's not always easy for me to spot when a toy has been identified, especially if it is one of several toys in a single post.

Please don't delete it as all posts are useful to keep for reference.

I think that's all!

Happy Toy ID-ing!

How To Post eBay Images
« Reply #1 on: Tuesday 23 August 2011, 05:50 pm »
    eBay Image Lifespan
Images included in sales listings are usually hosted by eBay and are stored online for 90 days. Some sales images may be stored elsewhere (found within the sales description page itself) so are entirely up to the seller when they are removed from the internet. Remember to save a copy if you want it for future reference!

    How To Post eBay Images
The specifics will probably differ slightly depending on what version you're using, but this is how I obtain eBay image URL's on my PC (correct as of Jan 2013).

    Internet Explorer
    • Enlarge the sales image, if possible.
    • Right click it, selecting Properties.
    • Highlight the URL address (a quick double or triple left click usually does the trick), right click and select Copy.
    • Go to your forum post, click the symbol for entering images.
    • Hit Ctrl V, or right click and select Paste.

    Mozilla Firefox
    • Enlarge the sales image.
    • Right click it, selecting Copy Image Location.
    • Go to your forum post, click the symbol for entering images.
    • Hit Ctrl V, or right click and select Paste.

    Google Chrome
    • Enlarge the sales image.
    • Right click it, selecting Copy Image URL.
    • Go to your forum post, click the symbol for entering images.
    • Hit Ctrl V, or right click and select Paste.

    Apple Safari
    • Enlarge the sales image.
    • Right click it, selecting Copy Image Address.
    • Go to your forum post, click the symbol for entering images.
    • Hit Ctrl V, or right click and select Paste.
