I love rummaging around in a good charity shop, you never know what little gem you may find! I collect all sorts of toys for myself and for resale on eBay.

Cinderella & Goldilocks ~ Two Story Dolls by Dan-Dee (1979)

A couple of weeks ago I found a wonderful old cloth doll fairytale storybook, produced by Dan-Dee in 1979. Each side has four faces, three of which flip over like pages, creating a new doll each time and revealing the next part of the tale. On one side of the doll is the story of Cinderella and the other Goldilocks. The print style brought back some early childhood memories of Clothkits.

Every Squeaky Girl’s Dream!

An old school friend sent me some splendid gifts in the post a while back, including a squeaky baby and a Sindy pamphlet from 1986 which brought back lots of fond memories of the Television Studio playset. I’ve scanned the little booklet for others to enjoy, but you’ll just have to imagine what the baby sounds like!

Vintage toy finds from August include Action Man, Boglins, Brush-A-Loves, Clangers, Country Companions, DC Comics, Disney Princess, Diva Starz, Fisher Price, Frankenstein, Fred Basset, Ghostbusters, Gogo’s Crazy Bones, Holly Hobbie, Lapin And Me, Lone Ranger, Monster In My Pocket, Mr Men, My Little Pony, PET Aliens, PG Tips, Polly Pocket, Power Rangers, Quints Cousins, Roddy, Sooty, Subbuteo and Toy Story.

Sky Dancers by Post

I recently had the opportunity to buy a large bundle of vintage Sky Dancers dolls, launchers and playsets. After much anticipation, two large boxes arrived safe and sound this morning. I have no idea where I am going to put them all!

Menacing Little TrollFlyz

I had another couple of successful couple weeks finding vintage toys, as well as a selection of modern toys, in my local charity shops and a carboot sale. Finds include Barbie, Beano, Care Bears, Dragon Flyz, Glo Friends, Masters Of The Universe, MegaMan, Moon Cat, Mr Men, Pony Club, Sooty, Star Wars, Trolls and Weebles.

The Buildable Horrors

I couldn’t resist buying a few of the “horror” movie buildable characters I came across on Temu when looking for Skeletor socks (as you do). There were lots to choose from, these being my favourites from the figures in stock.

Bertie & Henry’s Magical Gay Life

It’s been a long while since I’ve written a blog about the random items I find in charity shops. I buy so much these days for resale, that the things I buy for myself have become rather (and literally) lost in the pile. Today’s find offered the most excellent opportunity to start again, as everything I bought was for me. And what a random selection presented itself!

Return Of The Frizzy Troll

I found an interesting selection of plush toys and books recently, including some more Frizzys (which I love), three Raymond Briggs books and a vintage Star Wars sticker album. I’m rather taken by Bear In The Big Blue House, who “cha cha’s”, probably because it’s by Jim Henson.
