Furrever Friends were a short lived series produced by Kenner in 1987-88, with more toys planned but unproduced. The plush toys had velcro attached tails which could be extended to any length affordable via "Tail Toppers", while the Clip n' Tail series had plastic bodies which when squeezed would open up the front paws so they could clip onto things

I've never come across these animal friends, even thought they are in the 1987 catalogue.

Kenner 1988
The 1988 Kenner catalogue featured several new additions which were never released. Also shown in the images below were the toys released the previous year.
The three "flashy new colourful" kittens were never released, nor were the four new Animal Friends shown underneath or Posh Puff Kittens on the right.
The new Tail Toppers were never released.
