Mummy and I discovered the Botanical Gardens in Padua when we were let loose for the afternoon during our visit to Italy for my brother’s wedding. A beautiful place.

1950′s Dysfunctional Family Comic Strip Makeup Bags

I’ve just finished making these 1950’s style make-up bags feature a design called “Dysfunctional Family” by Michael Miller. Each bag differs, as does each side. They measure about 6 x 6 inches, with black zip and black lining.

Starlight Dance Badges [Order 1]

I’ve been working hard over the last few days on my first large custom badge order for Starlight Dance in Kettering, Northamptonshire. The order includes 90 badges made from 8 different designs.

Fabulous 1950’s Movie Icon Makeup Bags

I’ve just finished making six new makeup bags from some wonderful fabric with 1950’s movie icon faces. They feature one coloured side and one black and white side (with a dash of red to some). There is a choice of six movie icons with two different faces used per bag. They measure 7 x 8 inches.

Felt Angel Decorations

Here are two lovely felt angel decorations I’ve just finished as a commission. Fun, but fiddly.

Early Morning Brooch Making!

I made this little blue felt brooch this morning as a birthday present for my mummy-in-law’s friend. I hope she likes it. I haven’t made any brooches for a while, so made a nice change. I love my Cuttlebug!

Bits & Peices

I made these little mixed fabric and bead shapes last year, and are lovely little things! I’ve turned one into a necklace but haven’t decided what to do with the five yet.

Pink Felt Bead Necklace

I made this necklace for myself a while ago now, but thought I’d post a picture of it. The felt beads are a bit fiddly to make, but worth it!

Earrings For Mummy

Here are some earrings I made for my mummy during her visit at the beginning of the month. She was most pleased with them and we had a fun time playing with all my beads too!

Coiled Wire Earrings Experiment

I received my wire coiling gizmo today. No instructions, so after a bit of research on the internet I had a go at making a pair of earrings and am quite pleased with the results for a first try. I’m looking forward to experimenting with ideas now!

Large Square Crushed Velvet Purses

I’ve just added these large, square crushed velvet coin purses to my shop. They measure approximately 5 x 5 inches and are available in several colours.

Retro GB Girl Badges

I found some wrapping paper in Paperchase with a British theme, just in time for the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee. I thought the retro style faces would make nice badges, and some have glittery hair.

Black & White Floral Badges

I found some great new wrapping paper for badge making whilst visiting the folks in Bath this weekend, with a striking black and white floral pattern.

Upcycled Retro Fabric Make-up Bags

I fancied having a go at making some makeup bags using some old pieces of fabric, namely a 1979 Superman pillowcase and an small 1960’s curtain. Each side differs.

Heart Button Badges

These cute little heart button badges and are each unique in design. The background is various coloured sparkly/holographed paper, with either punched hearts or confetti on top.

It was such a lovely day on Friday that I nipped outside when I got home from work and took a few photographs of St Barnabas Church before the sun went down.

Redesigned 1970’s Floral Purses

After much procrastination, I decided to redesign the 1970’s floral bags I made a year or so ago as I made quite a few and sold, well, not so many! I turned most into large square purses, measuring about 5 inches each way, and left a few as neck purses, trimming their length to about 6 inches. I think they look much nicer now and the larger sized purses may be the way forward too!

Skull Badges

I bought some “Happy Birthday” skull wrapping paper to wrap a present with last week and found it was perfect for these 25mm button badges too. Bonus! As well as the white skulls, there are also silver outlines of skulls.

Cute Monster Badges

I bought some cute monster wrapping paper recently, which strangely enough was actually for wrapping presents but was also perfect for these different sized badges! They sold very well as my last craft stall.

Cute Smiling Character Badges

How cute is this wrapping paper from Paperchase? 😀 I’ve made button badges from the faces and one or two other small graphics, and a selection of others from both 38mm and 45mm badges.

Grungy Russian Doll Badges

I bought the most lovely wrapping paper from Paperchase whilst in Bath recently which looks like grungy Russian dolls. I have made button badges from the faces and 45mm badges from the bodies. They could be worn together as Russian dolls, or separately as sold.

Floral Felt & Button Brooches

These felt discs were originally made to be pendants for necklaces, but I decided they worked better as brooches. They are made from felt floral and circular shapes with beads, sequins and decorative stitching and measure between 4-5cm each.

New Beaded Earrings [Nov 2011]

I’ve decided to take a stab at making earrings, and am most pleased with the results. Made from a selection of glass, metal and other beads, and measure between 4-5cm (including hooks).

Floral Felt Necklaces

I was never completely happy with my first attempt at making felt necklaces, so I decided to work on them some more. I attached the discs to flower shaped backgrounds and used ribbons to thread them onto the necklace cords. I also added a few wooden beads too. Much better!
