Just before Christmas, I created some tree decorations using memory wire, ribbon and beads. Mine ended up on the cheese plant.
My mum gave me a selection of beads a few weeks back to turn into earrings for her, and I finally got around to it yesterday!
I recently discovered a beading technique called peyote, an off-loom bead weaving stitch. It’s actually the free-form version which caught my eye, but thought I had better start somewhere a little easier! I found some wonderful free instructions by Jill Wiseman (link below) and created these beauties for my mum’s 70th birthday.
For my friend Ali’s 40th birthday I made her a bead and safety-pin bracelet. It was quite fiddly to thread, but worth it as it makes quite a statement.
I recently purchased a larger display stand for when I do craft fairs, all I have to do now is make enough items to fill it. So, yesterday I spent the day making memory wire bracelets.
I’ve been a busy bee again today and made lots of new things! I had a go at making earrings from buttons, and am very pleased with the results. I also made some earrings using polymer clay flower beads and three memory wire bracelets. All items are available to buy from my shop. www.ghostofthedoll.co.uk/powdermonki/handmade/jewellery/hearts-flowers-earrings www.ghostofthedoll.co.uk/powdermonki/handmade/jewellery/bracelets
A bit of skull related jewellery making before bedtime last night!
I’ve been super busy this week having made 30 new bag and key charms, nine beaded bracelets and a pair of earrings. The tips of my fingers are now sore and rough! They are all available to buy from my shop. www.ghostofthedoll.co.uk/powdermonki/handmade/jewellery/bag-key-charms
I made these little mixed fabric and bead shapes last year, and are lovely little things! I originally made six, and turned one into a necklace as a Christmas present for my mum. She gets a lot of my experimental bits and pieces! I haven’t decided exactly what to do with the five I have left yet, but… Read More »
I made this necklace for myself a while ago now, but thought I’d post a picture of it. The felt beads are a bit fiddly to make, but worth it!
Here are some earrings I made for my mummy during her visit at the beginning of the month. She was most pleased with them and we had a fun time playing with all my beads too!
I received my wire coiling gizmo today. No instructions, so after a bit of research on the internet I had a go at making a pair of earrings and am quite pleased with the results for a first try. I’m looking forward to experimenting with ideas now!
I’ve just added eighteen pairs of newly made earrings to my shop.

These felt discs were originally made to be pendants for necklaces, but I decided they worked better as brooches. They are made from felt floral and circular shapes with beads, sequins and decorative stitching and measure between 4-5cm each.
I’ve decided to take a stab at making earrings, and am most pleased with the results. Made from a selection of glass, metal and other beads, and measure between 4-5cm (including hooks).
Here’s the necklace I made my mum for Christmas. The pendant part is made from a metal washer wrapped in black netting, textured wool and beads. The cord part has wooden beads and felt beads.
