Title: Zoo Borns by Ed Kaplan Associates, 1994
Post by: Ghost Of The Doll on Friday 12 March 2010, 07:46 pm
Jennifer would like to know more about a line called Zoo Babies from 1994:

"I found these in a thrift store and just love them, but I can't find any info on who made them or if there were any other ones. The bottoms of the feet say "Zoo Borns". The each have battery compartments, but no longer work so I don't know what they did. They have soft plush bodies and harder plastic heads that are covered in flocking. They have rubbery plastic feet. The tags read Ed Kaplan Associates.  The back of the Hippo's head says 1994."

UPDATES!!!

Thanks to Tiffany who added:

"I had the giraffe like the one in the picture, and my sister had a baby monkey. I think it might have been a chimpanzee. I'm not completely sure what the batteries did, but I'm pretty sure I remember them making animal noises. I may be wrong but that's what's coming to mind. Also, I believe they came with baby bottles. Their mouths are opened a little and I remember always pretending to feed mine."

Thanks to Abby who added:

"I had to do some googling on these zoo borns. That giraffe was just too cute. They were made by Ed Kaplan and Associates in 1994 and they giggled."

Hi,

I have a couple of old zoo borns that I have had forever and was wondering if anyone would be interested in them? I just have too much stuff in my house these days. I got them at Toys R Us when I was a kid.  I am not overly familiar with the site (just signed up!) but it was one of the only ones I could find with people talking about these things! I can post pictures of the ones I have. Thanks.
