Yes they did make custom cabbage patch kids. In fact, they still do. http://www.cabbagepatchkids.com/index.html One day, I want to visit Babyland General hospital. I agree that neeta137's doll doesn't look like an original cabbage patch kid. I had an awesome doll my grandma made me that was a cabbage patch "knockoff". She had purple hair and I am still hunting for a replacement for her.

I think I might have located her... The very top doll on this kay and lyns page.

http://texaswatertowers.com/kayandlyn/blueboxtoys.html

Blue Box Toys, 1983 girl. Her shoes are part of her body. Doesn't she resemble the Cabbage Patch Kids from the same era with her yarn hair and funny face? Maybe a little prettier than the CPKs but not nearly as well made.

Does anyone else think she looks like this one????

Definitely! The only knock-offs I could find where Mop-Pets.

The Blue Box doll is way prettier than normal CPK!

I'll drive by Babyland General on my way home from school in a few weeks. :-D I picked up a brochure at the rest stop on the way here but didn't have time to see it. :P

Check out my site - its information i've been looking up on "FLOWER KIDS" by BLUE BOX.  Majority of them were made in 1983 - the year it actually started and the creator of CPK was quite upset since they wanted some piece of the glory by imitating the CPK - but the Flower Kids are much much more prettier than the CPK in my opinion.

I've seen there were lots of name blends, do you still have a document or name tag for it anywhere? and i actually consent with zap, it doesn't look like a CPK to me. do you still have the doll? actual CPKs have signitures on their bums, lol. but i'd be very amazed if it wasn't a fakie, i've never seen a headmould like that before.
