TNT Sweet Scents ~ Blooming Babies ~ Other Scented TNT Dolls
« on: Monday 12 April 2010, 01:43 pm »
I've just added a section for various TNT scented dolls, but need some help!

The Sweet Scents line had six fruit scented dolls and (I assume) six candy scented dolls. I've found all six of the fruit ones but am having a really hard time with the candy scented dolls. I've found three dolls so far and know the name of one more. I have also found images of two dolls which I believe are candy scented but don't know their names.

Take a look here:

http://www.ghostofthedoll.co.uk/Toys_TNT_SweetScents.htm

Can anyone help with more images or names?

As for Blooming Babies, I've only found images of two of the dolls, but assume there were at least six in the set. Does anyone have any more of these dolls or know if they had names?

Unknown TNT Scented Dolls

And lastly, during my research I found two long haired dolls with ringlets which are supposed to be scented but don't fit in with the Sweet Scents or Blooming Babies line. Does anyone know who they are or have any more of them?

These are the ones I have, but I have no clue where they fit into the line:

The painted lips on those are so different! I wonder what series this was.

Hmm, so they are!  You inspired me to dig them out.

I have a few with the traditional Sweet Scents faces, but they are not in their right outfits so they are of course no help :P  However, they do provide me with a nice comparison with the ones I posted.

They look to be obviously related- same body, same eye style, same hairdos.  But, as Eilonwe was onto, they have a different head mold.  The older lipless ones are stamped "TNT" and the ones I posted are stamped "2000 TT."  So, a later version perhaps?

The unknown doll with blue hair that is under consideration as a Candy Scent doll appears to be like mine.  This places it later, so it probably is not a Candy Scent doll.

Now, for your further consideration, I give you my two other discoveries:

Both seem to be in their original dresses.  Perhaps there is a fairy tale line as well?

Both smell like old doll :P

:o FAIRY TALES?! I love fairy tales!

Must find some...

ETA: The dark-skinned girl has a face like the two unknown ringlet girls (the eyelashes are the same). I wonder if they were fairy tale girls, too!

I have 2 of those, I guess they are from the candy line? I'll have to get you a pic of the one.. the other is just like the unknown purple haired doll in the striped dress.

I've updated the TNT dolls pages to reflect the findings so far. Are the fairytale style dolls or the smiling lips dolls scented at all?

The fairy tail style ones are not scented at all (at least not any more) while the pink haired doll with the blue ribbons had a sort of vanilla smell- it was hard to ID, and frankly, I'm not sure if it didn't pick up the scent off other dolls I have in the drawer with it.  It does smell nice though :)

Inconclusive, sadly.

Hey I've Seen One Of These Before. I So Forgot The Name, But The One I Was About To Get Had Lime Green Hair/Mint Green Hair. I Think She Was The Watermelon One.

Here is one wearing overalls:

She looks very similar to the mint doll but with with the slightly different outfit.

EDIT: Nevermind, looked at my mint doll at home and realized that this is just the mint doll without her skirt!

Could the fairy tale ones have been international dolls? Sometimes traditional dress of other countries looks similar to fairy tale outfits.

Perhaps, but it's really the Snow White-looking one that brings the fairy tale thing to mind. Do you see any specific ones that you think could be international outfits? The only one I can see that sort of fits is the brown-ringleted one in the blue dress on the unknown page, but I don't know what country she would be.
