I had these as a child too (in the UK). I found them at a boot sale a few months back, the stamp says they were made by Galoob Toys in 1994. They are about the same size as the body of a sky dancer that clipped on to the base by the leg. The base had a wheel on the bottom and if you moved the whole base around the ballerina would spin. The dolls weren't jointed at all.

Found one on eBay!

Apparently they're jointed at the waist. I'm not sure if the dress is original. Apparantly the stamp is LGT 1991

I've just found another sighting.

http://www.melbirnkrant.com/born/mel29.htm about halfway down the page.

"On the following page is a line of ballerina dolls that shows how even a product with a feature, if you can call, small dolls, rotating on a large base, a feature, can be destroyed by generic looking sculpting and design."

I wish he'd said what they were called.

Success!

I was having a browse around eBay and I found them! Even including a picture of the box. They have no presence at all on the internet, so they couldn't have done very well, but you can see the beginnings of the idea for Sky Dancers.

I've emailed Carrie, the original emailer of this topic (as it's a pre forum ID help request), to see if this is the doll she remembers. I'd love to get this put in the ID-ed folder!

OMG!!!!!! I know this may seem silly but I'm actually sitting here crying!!!!
THATS THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For YEARS I have dreamt of these dolls and replayed all the days I played with them until I lost them in the move and to be honest I was beginning to give up hope of ever hearing about them again.

I cannot think you all enough for giving me back a piece of my childhood I thought was gone forever.

Thank you
Thank you
THANK YOU!!!!!!

You're welcome love :)

I feel awful that I didn't pick those up for you at the car boot now. If I see them again I'll buy them and hopefully Ghost can email you and if you pay the shipping they're yours. Fingers crossed.
They seem to pop up on eBay from time to time but without the stand.

Oh thank you so much darling. I am STILL on shock about these believe it or not. A million memories just came flooding back to me upon seeing one.... and I even recognise the names....I DEFINATELY had Danielle (I think she was the one in the black tutu and was my fav!!!!)...I also remember one as being Isabel and I think the last one I had was Alisa(but im not 100% sure on that)

I would of course pay for the shipping and a finders fee!!! Fingers crossed.....

I am always on ebay so its a wonder I have never come across any ... just my luck lol!
