Pony Wear Contents

UK ~ Pony Wear

There were several collections of Pony Wear released in the UK, differering in times and outfits to those of the US. There were three exclusive outfits, and six adult only outfits from the US Mother & Baby sets. Packaging illustrations were also different.

Pony Wear Collection 1 (1983)

The first set of UK Pony Wear didn't use the title "Pony Wear" anywhere on the packaging.

  • Bedtime Outfit (UK only)
  • Partytime Outfit (UK only)
  • Rainy Day Outfit (adult outfit only from "Ready for Rainbows" Mother & Baby set)
  • Jewellery Box and Clip-on Jewellery

Costume Wear

There were six Costume Wear sets, just like the US. I haven't found any packaging images but were probably the same as the US versions (on the front at least).

  • Abra-Ca-Dabra
  • Academy Award
  • Galaxy Glamour
  • In The Centre Ring
  • Pony-Naut
  • Rockin' the Night Away

Play 'n Wear

There were six Play 'n Wear sets. One had a name change in the UK, where all six were sold.

  • Get Into The Groove
  • Hit the Slopes!
  • Milk 'n Cookies
  • Pony Holiday
  • Pretty As A Picture
  • Skateboard Sensation - (US "Sidewalk Surfer")

The packaging was the same as the US version apart from one name change (below) and UK specific text/spelling alterations.

Baby Pony Wear with Pocket Pals

Baby Pony Wear with Pocket Pals was the first set of Pony Wear for baby ponies, released in 1986. They were sold in pairs and each one came with a "Pocket Pal" doll, made up of two pom-poms, that fitted a pocket of a matching outfit. Each pack came with a grape-scented sticker that pictured two baby ponies wearing the outfits.

In the UK only four of the total eight pairs were sold, and they all had slightly different names.

  • Bunny Suit & Dungarees - (aka "Bunny & Overalls")
  • Clown Suit & Bathrobe - (aka "Clown & Bathrobe)
  • Dragon Suit & Sundress - (aka "Dragon & Sunsuit")
  • Snowsuit & Pinafore - (aka "Jumper & Snowsuit")

UK packaging had different illustrations.

Pony Packs

"Fashion accessories from head to toe!"

There were four sets of Pony Packs (as per the US), each pack containing themed fashion accessories. Each Pony Pack came with a brush or comb.

I haven't found any packaging images but were probably the same as the US versions.

Pretty Ups

There were four sets of Pretty Ups, which were hair accessories for ponies. Each set included four hair-clips, three hair-grips with false hair, one ribbon and a brush or comb. I haven't found a UK packaging, but as they were released elsewhere in Europe I expect they were sold in the UK too.
