I have no record of Kazey Grey‘s birth, just hers and her husband’s names (John Mayhew) on the baptism record for my 4th Great Grandfather (also called John) in 1801, and a second child (James) in 1804. A fitting marriage record is found in 1800 for John Mayhew to Casey Grey. All these events happen in Bromham, Bedfordshire, England.
There is then a burial record for John snr in 1804 and that of their baby son James. In 1806 there is a marriage record for Kasey Mayhew to Samual Stratton. I have found no baptisms for this marriage so don’t believe they had any children together.
Kezia Stratton died 27th Jan 1840 aged 77 in Bromham (the death certificate confirms her husband to have been Samuel). Present at the death was Hannah Taylor, whom I believe to be her neighbour and mother of her son John’s (my 4GG) second wife Sarah (nee Taylor). In the 1841 census, John is living next door to the Taylor family.
All the pieces of my research fit and am happy this is the correct parents for my 4th Great Grandfather John Mayhew.
