Recently, I realised that I had never taken the time to read these inscriptions properly. As both an artist and a genealogist, I thought it would be an interesting project to photograph each bench and research the lives of the individuals commemorated on them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>My first project was quite significant; it involved a large line of over 100 benches in Leigh-On-Sea, all overlooking the sea. I completed this in three phases.
