Last week I bought two little baby dresses for 50p each with the idea of turning them into pencil cases as a present for my mum’s birthday. I surprised myself by getting straight onto it, and even made myself on too!
On learning that I was to be an aunty, I knew immediately that my role would be to create some weird and wonderful creations for said child to be dressed in or play with (or both). At first I thought about making a little quilt for his cot, but advice from mother led me to making a quilted playmat instead.
I just came across some photos of three furry hats I made a few years back which I had totally forgotten about, which may have been for the best…
I’ve just finished making these 1950’s style make-up bags feature a design called “Dysfunctional Family” by Michael Miller. Each bag differs, as does each side. They measure about 6 x 6 inches, with black zip and black lining.
I’ve just finished making six new makeup bags from some wonderful fabric with 1950’s movie icon faces. They feature one coloured side and one black and white side (with a dash of red to some). There is a choice of six movie icons with two different faces used per bag. They measure 7 x 8 inches.
Here are two lovely felt angel decorations I’ve just finished as a commission. Fun, but fiddly.
I’ve just finished making this black velvet coffin purse for a lady in Norway. I hope she likes it!
I’ve just added these large, square crushed velvet coin purses to my shop. They measure approximately 5 x 5 inches and are available in several colours.
I fancied having a go at making some makeup bags using some old pieces of fabric, namely a 1979 Superman pillowcase and an small 1960’s curtain. Each side differs.
After much procrastination, I decided to redesign the 1970’s floral bags I made a year or so ago as I made quite a few and sold, well, not so many! I turned most into large square purses, measuring about 5 inches each way, and left a few as neck purses, trimming their length to about 6 inches. I think they look much nicer now and the larger sized purses may be the way forward too!
My friend Ali asked me to make her some felt Christmas tree decorations, so I made myself some too! I’m most pleased with how they came out (and so was Ali).
I have just added a whole new batch of items to my shop made with the lovely floral fabrics I bought a short while ago. I’ve currently only made one each in the different floral fabrics below, but please contact me if you want to buy something which has sold and I’ll let you know if I make one especially for you!
Furry pencil cases with googly eyes just added to my shop! They measure about 18cm x 13cm (under the fur)!
