Beaded Peyote & Resin Brooch

This was a special present I made for my mum for her birthday. The outside is peyote stitched beads and the inside is a resin dome I made a white back.

Bejewelled Mosaic Coasters

My first attempt at making coasters from my ever growing pile of tile samples!

Last year I made my mum a couple of pairs of earrings for her birthday, one pair of which turned out slightly bigger than I expected. After a few months procrastination, I turned said earrings into a necklace and it became this year’s birthday present instead!

Star Wars Quilted Playmat

On learning that I was to be an aunty, I knew immediately that my role would be to create some weird and wonderful creations for said child to be dressed in or play with (or both). At first I thought about making a little quilt for his cot, but advice from mother led me to making a quilted playmat instead.

Peyote Earrings

I recently discovered a beading technique called peyote, an off-loom bead weaving stitch. It’s actually the free-form version which caught my eye, but thought I had better start somewhere a little easier! I found some wonderful free instructions by Jill Wiseman (link below) and created these beauties for my mum’s 70th birthday.

Three Bag Charm Gifts

The charm on the left I made in Dec 2013, and the other two in Oct 2014. All were given as gifts to friends.

Egyptian Bracelet

I decided to make my friend Sharon an Egyptian themed bracelet for her 40th birthday this year. The tiny beads threaded on bars are authentic antique Egyptian stones.

Silver Skull Pin Brooch

I fancied having a go at making a brooch using a large safety pin with hooks on to dangle things off. I chose silver skulls, wings and black lucite flowers.

Bead & Safety-Pin Bracelet

For my friend Ali’s 40th birthday I made her a bead and safety-pin bracelet. It was quite fiddly to thread, but worth it as it makes quite a statement.

Felt Spiral Brooch

I made this brooch as a birthday present for my mum by lightly felting space-dyed wool onto a felt disc backing. I then sewed a spiral of beads on top, which follows the line of the original wool.

Floral Bracelet

My mum asked me to make her friend a bracelet for Christmas using little polymer clay and lucite flowers beads. This is the result!

Early Morning Brooch Making!

I made this little blue felt brooch this morning as a birthday present for my mummy-in-law’s friend. I hope she likes it. I haven’t made any brooches for a while, so made a nice change. I love my Cuttlebug!

Bits & Peices

I made these little mixed fabric and bead shapes last year, and are lovely little things! I’ve turned one into a necklace but haven’t decided what to do with the five yet.

Felt & Beaded Necklace

Here’s the necklace I made my mum for Christmas. The pendant part is made from a metal washer wrapped in black netting, textured wool and beads. The cord part has wooden beads and felt beads.
