There were quite a few cosmetic sets produced included blush, lip gloss, nail polish, cologne, lipstick, eye shadow, compacts and vanity playsets.

Beauty Lights Compacts

"Really lights up!"

There were four Beauty Lights Compacts produced in 1988. The heart shaped compact would open up to reveal a mirror and two combs, one for little girls to use and one for the doll. The mirror had little LED lights around it which lit up.

Play Cosmetics

Sweet Secrets Play Cosmetics consisted of six sets of real cosmetic items which turned into dolls or animals. There were six sets produced, each containing the same four characters (dog, cat, bear and doll) except the colognes, which had three dolls. Second series characters were the same as the first in every way except with new patterns.

Cologne

"Darling doll... becomes splash cologne!"

There were three cologne charms produced. The dolls had heads and hands but no feet.

The prototype Cologne line from the Galoob 1987 catalogue (second and third images) looked quite different from the production line. The 1988 catalogue used the actual toys (first image).

The Play Cosmetics packaging came in two styles, the round-topped version being the first release and straight-sided from the second release.

The 1987 Galoob catalogue used prototype items, which looked a little different from the production line. It does, however, show which patterns were produced first. The 1989 Galoob catalogue used the actual toys.

Vanity Sets

Pretty Packs were available in four colour co-ordinated sets in the first series. Each pack contained a see-through vinyl bag, lipgloss, blush, eyeshadow and a mirror (as shown in the 1989 Galoob catalogue image below).

This is another prototype from 1987, which looks very different to the final product.

The second series vanity sets contained the same mirror, comb and brush playsets as found on the Playsets page, but made in different colours and with different shaped charms in them, which were also sold separately. I've found them loose, so can confirm the charms were not all heart shaped lip gloss as the packaging and publicity picture below show.

This publicity image has a blue rimmed mirror, but don't know if it was ever sold like this.

The brush and comb handles are missing from the below image.
