Arnos Vale Cemetery & Crematorium, Bristol

I visited Arnos Vale Cemetery last March, a large Victorian cemetery and crematorium in Bristol, and thought it was about time I sorted out the photos I took and publish them.

It had been about seventeen years since I last visited, at which point it was in a bad way with some parts so overgrown as to be completely impenetrable. It has undergone considerable lottery funded restoration since it fell into disrepair in the late 1990’s,  and is now a wonderful place to visit and wander around without fear of falling into an open grave!

Cremation

Arnos Vale now has a cafe and underneath, next to the toilets, can be found an old 1930’s decommissioned furnace and other associated items which were still in use up the the 1990’s.
