I used to walk through Locksbrook Cemetery in Bath on my way to and from school most days for several years. It took you off the main road for a little while, and silenced the sound of cars. Mum and I walked through there on our way back from charity shopping and I took a few photographs whilst mum looked for a distant relative’s headstone-less plot.

The one monument I really wanted to see again I could find at all, which was odd because it was a slightly larger than life white sculpture of a sleeping woman and something I’d photographed several times at college. A short while later I did some research to see if I could find any other photos of it online, and discovered the reason I didn’t spot it was because it was no longer white. All the surface colouring must have worn off over the last couple of decades. Something to search out next time!
