Baby Beans :: Feijaozinho by Estrela
"Soft as a baby's bottom!"
Baby Beans were produced by Mattel from 1970-1984. They were soft bodied baby dolls stuffed with polystyrene bean bag balls, and plastic heads. Meritus took over production from 1991-98 with their own line, and Estrela had their own concurrent line to Mattel in Brazil during the 1970-80's and again in 2011-12. They were very popular, hence the sheer amount of them all over the world! Feijãozinho ~ Estrela
In Brazil, Estrela produced a large line of different dolls using the original doll heads. As shown on their related pages, Estrela also produced a version of the original dolls called "Feijãozinho", Bare Bottom Beans called "Bebe Bum-Bum", a Biffy Beans doll called "Tostãozinho", and a Punky Puppet Beans doll called "Feijãozinho-Caretinha". There were probably others too which I have yet to confirm. Estrela used Booful Beans head for all their dolls.
in 2011, Estrela began production again, using Booful and Bitty Beans heads, plus a third design. Even though they were released so recently, I've not been able to find any further information on the new toys produced other than what I can translate from the small amount of packaging and sales texts I have found.
Dressed Dolls
These 10 inch dolls were produced from the mid 1970's and into the 1980's. They wore some funky country bumpkin threads!

I don't know where these dolls fit in yet.
Fiu-Fiu Dolls
There were at least three Fiu-Fiu dolls produced around 1986. Similar to the original Baby Beans, their bodies were a fitted romper suit and bonnet. Rather than pom-poms, they had "Feijaozinho" printed on their bellies. Fiu Fiu means something akin to a wolf whistle.

Colorido
There were three different sets of Colorido dolls produced.
This set had two dolls in it. Their bodies were a toweling fabric and they had short curly hair.
This set had four dolls in it. Their tops had girl motifs on.

This set had four dolls in it. They had fuzzy yarn hair and stripes on their dresses.
Emilia
There were a lot of Emilia dolls produced, a new one each year for well over ten years. Mostly they were the larger size, but I've also found a couple of smaller ones. Sometimes the variations are small (different ribbon pattern) and sometimes much more obvious. There were two styles of body patterns, one with squares and one with dots and stripes (the most common type).
I've found two smaller Emilia dolls so far.

Re-Issues ~ 2011-12
Estrela began production again in 2011-12, although I've not been able to find out much about the new line.
One of these three dolls has Booful's face, the other two use a new mould.
Cromoterapia ~ Colour Therapy
